Adriana Calhoon is an entrepreneur by trade and a communicator at heart.
Following her two passions, business and media, led her to become the
Founder of AC Media TV and the show “Adriana En Complicidad” in
Houston, TX.; where today she serves as the President and CEO.
Adriana was born in Tabasco.
Mexico where she received a Marketing
certification from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, (ITESM)
Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores De Monterrey.
Remaining true to her background as an on-air personality for a local
children radio show back in her hometown of Villahermosa, Mexico;
Adriana does not only continue to be an on-air personality today, but is
also a producer, reporter, and a radio and TV host.
As the jack of all trades that she is,
she explored an opportunity in the Oil and Gas industry working in the PR, Marketing and Sales departments for four years.
Adriana then moved to Houston in 2004, where she began working for Univision Radio in the Sales Department to then
make her way back to her on-air career where she later served as a Morning show radio personality for.
KOVE-FM “KLOVE”, and was later on promoted to mid-day for Recuerdo 106.5.
During her time with the company, Adriana also collaborated with Univision 45 on the “Fin de Semana”.
Segment, covering a variety of stories from the World Cup to the Latin Grammys.
Adriana then served as the local correspondent for Univision’s national talk show El Gordo y La Flaca.
In 2011, Adriana was officially incorporated to Houston’s KXLN Univision 45 as anchor for the morning.
Show “Noticias 45:Primera Edición” on Univision and “Vive la Mañana” on KFTH TeleFutura 67 (Unimas 67) until 2013.
A trajectory like hers, and her active involvement in the Hispanic community builds and inspires recognition.
Aside from being a social media influencer, to this day, Adriana Calhoon has received several.
Recognitions by different organizations and magazines for her journalistic work, leadership and business
accomplishments. Some of her accolades include:
- Lone Star Emmy Award under the Special Assignment category in 2009 • A second Emmy nomination in 2010 • Two more Emmy nominations in 2018 for her independent show and content (Adriana En Complicidad Show)
- Two Times Telly’s Awards 2020 winner for Talent, Producer and Director
- Four nominations for AC Media TV for its “Adriana En Complicidad” show
- Mexicanos Destacados Houston 2020 by the Mexican Consulate
Her contributions to the community have also been significant. Adriana’s altruistic nature made her
instrumental during the destruction of Hurricane Harvey in 2017. She coordinated efforts to help first
responders as well as underprivileged areas in the city of Houston. Adriana is a big supporter of NonProfit Organizations and an active member of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (HHCC).
