Xanthogranulomatous inflammation (XGI) contains common lipid-laden macrophages in the microscopic structure. It can be seen in various parts of the body. Macroscopically, it is characterized by common bright yellow abscesses, and it may mimic a tumor. A sixty-year-old woman, who had a mastectomy for breast cancer 10 years ago, referred to our polyclinic with a palpable mass under the incision line. The patient has been initially considered to have a local recurrence after the investigations and operated for the second time. However, pathology results were reported as XGI. This situation has supported the tumor immitating ability of XGI.
